Boston College hires Steve Addazio from Temple

The Boston College Eagles will hire Temple's Steve Addazio as its head coach on Tuesday according to a report.

Boston College will hire Temple's Steve Addazio as its next head coach according to Pete Thamel of Sports Illustrated. Addazio will replace former Eagles coach Frank Spaziani.

Addazio spent the past two season as the head coach of the Temple Owls, leading them to a 13-11 record over two seasons. This season, Temple's first in the Big East, the Owls went 4-7 and 2-5 in conference. Prior to being the head coach of the Owls, Addazio was an assistant with the Florida Gators. Addazio served on Urban Meyer's staff from from 2005-2010; in 2009-10 he was the Gators offensive coordinator. He is considered to be a great recruiter, with strong ties in the northeast region.

Boston College went 2-10 in 2012 with a 1-7 record in the ACC, its fourth season under Spaziani. Spaziani compiled a 21-29 record in his time at Boston College. The Eagles last played in a bowl game in 2010, when they lost to Nevada in the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl.
