Davis Love III is set to lead Team USA at the 2012 Ryder Cup, which will start on Sept. 25.
When the 2012 Ryder Cup kicks off on Sept. 25 at Medinah Country Club outside Chicago, U.S. captain Davis Love III will lead Woodstock, Vermont native Keegan Bradley and the rest of a star-studded U.S. roster against Europe's finest.
The team was assembled by taking the top eight players on the Ryder Cup points list, which tabulates points earned from money earned in PGA Tour Events dating from 2011 to Aug. 12, 2012. In addition, money earned in 2012 counts as double, while winnings from alternative events in 2012 counts as half. Finally, Love, as captain, is allowed to make four captain's picks.
Some of the notable players on the roster include Bubba Watson, Jason Dufner, Phil Mickelson and, of course, Tiger Woods. Fred Couples, Mike Hulbert, Jeff Sluman and Scott Verplank will act as assistant captains.
