UConn, Western Michigan meet Saturday.

After two straight weeks of facing Atlantic Coast Conference opponents, the Connecticut Huskies (2-1) turn their attention to a Mid-American Conference opponent, the Western Michigan Broncos (1-2), who they will face at 2:00 p.m. ET on Saturday afternoon at Waldo Stadium in Kalamazoo, Michigan (ESPN3/UConn IMG Sports Radio Network).

UConn and Western Michigan have only met twice before, and each team has one victory. The series began in 2003 with a 41-27 victory for the Huskies and continued last season at Rentschler Field, where the Broncos escaped with a 38-31 win. Alex Carder torched the UConn defense for 479 yards and five touchdowns while Johnny McEntee tossed for 300 yards and Lyle McCombs rushed for 136 yards.

Last weekend, the Huskies defeated the Maryland Terrapins, 24-21. behind McCombs' 94 yard effort. UConn was only able to gain 223 yards in the win, with Chandler Whitmer throwing for only 68 yards on 10-of-16 passing. John Delahunt had 43 yards on three catches and Nick Williams returned a punt 58 yards for a touchdown.

Western Michigan was not as fortunate last weekend, however, losing to Minnesota, 28-23. The Broncos had 374 total yards and Carder topped 200 yards passing and had one touchdown pass and an interception. Dareyon Chance paced the Broncos attack with 144 rushing yards and one score on 29 carries. Jaime Wilson caught 10 passes for 117 yards.

This is the second MAC foe UConn has faced this season after blanking UMass, 37-0.
