As many as three Harvard Crimson men's basketball players, including co-captains Kyle Casey and Brandyn Curry, have reportedly been implicated in an academic cheating scandal that could lead both to withdraw from the university, according to multiple reports. SI.com's Luke Winn broke the story early Tuesday morning.

If both Casey, an All-Ivy League forward, and Curry, the team's point guard, decide to withdraw, both will miss the 2012-13 college basketball season, but will preserve one year of amateur eligibility. According to reports, Casey and Curry are allegedly part of a cheating scandal that revolves around a take-home final exam in a course called "1310: Introduction to Congress." Harvard's administrative board is investigating allegations that approximately 125 undergraduates "may have committed acts of academic dishonesty."

Initial reports identified Casey and Curry as the only two Crimson basketball players involved, but the Boston Herald's Dan Duggan reports that a third player could be involved.

Last season, Casey (6'7, 215 pounds) averaged 11.4 points and 5.5 rebounds for the Crimson, who lost to the Vanderbilt Commodores in the first round of the NCAA tournament. Curry (6'1, 195) averaged 7.9 points and 4.9 assists per game.
