The second round of the 2012 Deutsche Bank Championship is underway in Norton, and Rory McIlroy is lighting it up early at TPC Boston. McIlroy is 6-under through his first 15 holes as he looks to make a push for the $10 million FedEx Cup purse at the end of the playoffs. McIlroy went off the backside and shot a blistering outward 30 which included an eagle on No. 18.
The Northern Irishman had an impressive month of August, starting a two-month stretch stateside with his second major in as many years. He's now looking to start off a busy September with another win. He's currently in the lead at 12-under, two shots clear of American Ryan Moore who posted a second round 68.
Playing with McIlroy is FedEx Cup contender and fellow Ryder Cup competitor Jason Dufner. The Auburn grad has had a breakout season on Tour and he's 4-under through 15 holes, but still trailing McIlroy by four shots. Phil Mickelson is also on the first page of the leaderboard, currently T9 and 3-under for the day. For a live leaderboard, visit Golf.com.
