2012 PGA Championship Winner: Rory McIlroy Cruises To Victory

Rory McIlroy cruised to victory on Sunday in the 2012 PGA Championship at the Ocean Course at Kiawah Island Golf Resort in South Carolina. McIlroy finished 6-under-par on Sunday and 13-under for the tournament.

David Lynn was a distant second at 5-under for the tournament. Tiger Woods finished 2-under, tied for 11th place. Defending PGA Championship winner and Vermont native Keegan Bradley finished 4-under for the tournament and was among four players tied for third with that score.

The win was McIlroy's second in a major championship. He also won the 2011 U.S. Open. McIlroy's best finish in the PGA Championship before this year was third in 2009 and 2010. Like the 2011 U.S. Open win, McIlroy grew stronger as the tournament wore on and his dominating performance on the weekend gave him an undramatic victory.

2012 PGA Championships: Third Round Recap And Tee Times Update

Saturday's rain delay prevented the completion of the third round of the 2012 PGA Championships for many of tournament's competitors, including Rory McIlroy, Vijay Singh, and Tiger Woods. As a result, players who have not yet completed their round of golf will take to the course at 7:45 a.m. Eastern Time. Afterwards, the fourth and final round of play will begin at 11:44 a.m. and tee times will continue through 1:45, according to an official statement from the PGA of America Rules Committee. The golfers will be placed into groups of three for round four.

McIlroy will look to finish his third round of golf as successfully as he started it. He was four-under on Saturday to lower his overall score to six-under, good enough to place him first on the leaderboard. Singh is tied with McIlroy overall and is two-under through seven holes in the third round. Some of the competitors, including Bo Van Pelt (three-under) and Steve Stricker (two-under) were able to finish all 18 holes on Saturday before the rain delay.

TV coverage begins on TNT at 8:00 a.m. Eastern Time and continues on CBS Sports at 2:00 p.m.

2012 PGA Championship 3rd Round: Keegan Bradley Even Through Front 9

Keegan Bradley has had an up and down front nine in the third round of the 2012 PGA Championship at The Ocean Course on Kiawah Island, SC, but the defending champion made the turn at even par on the day and 1-over par for the tournament.

The Woodstock, VT native had a roller coaster start to the day, going birdie-bogey-birdie on the first three holes to move 1-under par for the day and even par on the tournament. After four straight pars Bradley lost a stroke and moved back to over par following a bogey on the 198-yard par-3 eighth hole.

With leaders Tiger Woods, Carl Pettersson and Vigay Singh set to start, Bradley will need to make a run on the back nine if he wants to be in contention to win back-to-back Wanamaker trophies.

PGA Championship Cut Line: Hunter Mahan, Lee Westwood And Others Miss The Cut

The cut line for the 2012 PGA Championship has come down at 6-over par, ending the tournament early for a number of notable names, including some surprising ones. Martin Kaymer, who won the PGA Championship in 2010, will not continue in the 2012 tournament. Rickie Fowler (10-over) is in the same boat, as is Matt Kuchar (10-over), Hunter Mahan (8-over), Sergio Garcia (7-over) and Lee Westwood (7-over). Keegan Bradley, New England's representative in the field, has struggled but is well within the cut at 1-over par. World No. 1 Luke Donald and Jason Dufner are also safe within the cut, but just barely; both men currently stand at 6-over par.

2012 PGA Championship Scores And Results: Tiger Woods Tied For Lead After Day 2

Tiger Woods is tied for the lead at the 2012 PGA Championship, sitting atop the leaderboard with Vijay Singh and Carl Pettersson. All three men are 4-under par through the first two days of the tournament. Vermont native Keegan Bradley had a rough day, ending Day 2 of the tournament 1-over and tied for 15th place.

Tiger failed to improve on his score from Day 1, shooting a 71 to follow Thursday's 69, but that was still good enough to move him 13 places up the leaderboard. Singh did the opposite, shooting a 71 on Thursday and a 69 Friday, the low round of the day. Pettersson opened the day in first and appeared to struggle with the pressure, following up his opening round 66 with a 74.

Bradley struggled throughout the day, picking up a pair of bogeys on holes four and five, then a string of four more bogeys on holes 11 through 14. A birdie on hole 16 was followed by a bogey on 17, and he ended the day with a 77.

PGA Championship 2012: Odds For The Tournament

The 94th PGA Championship starts on Thursday at the Ocean Course on at Kiawah Island with expectations running rampant for certain players. For others, they're able to fly under the radar while hoping to snatch elusive glory from the favorites.

As the lines sit now, Tiger Woods is the favorite at 8/1. Woods hasn't won a major yet this year, but has looked solid and perhaps is ready to hold the Wannamaker Trophy once again.

Local Keegan Bradley is also one of the trendy picks to be all smiles on Sunday. The Woodstock, VT native won the PGA Championship last year, his only major win currently. He's right there in the betting, tied for the eighth-highest odds at 33/1.

Phil Mickelson is at 40/1, a very intriguing dark-horse. Mickelson hasn't had a great year, but is always dangerous.

Here's a look at some of the top favorites and their odds, according to BOVADA:

Tiger Woods 8/1
Rory McIlroy 18/1
Luke Donald 18/1
Lee Westwood 20/1
Adam Scott 28/1
Jason Dufner 28/1
Justin Rose 28/1

2012 PGA Championship: Picks And Predictions

On Thursday, the PGA Championship will get underway at the Ocean Course on Kiawah Island. While many competitors will hit the links, only a select few are expected to make real noise in the fourth and final major of the year.

Tiger Woods is one such man. As usual, Woods comes in as a favorite to win another major, despite having zero titles in major events since his public humiliation a few years ago. However, Woods has a revamped swing and looks like he just might be able to pull it off.

Farrell Evans of ESPN.com likes Woods' chances.

Woodstock, VT native Keegan Bradley won the tournament last year and certainly has been playing terrific lately. The local looks primed for another run at capturing his second major.

Then there is Rory McIlroy, who frankly hasn't lived up to expectations in 2012. Most pundits thought he would run away from the pack and start dominating, but that hasn't been the case. Kevin Maguire of ESPN muses that McIlroy is the man to beat come the weekend.

Many people like Jason Dufner to walk away with the victory, including Chris Dunham, Ryan Smithson and Brian Wacker of PGATour.com.

We'll all find out soon enough who had it picked correctly when the tees starting flying on Thursday.

2012 PGA Championship: Keegan Bradley Looks To Break Streak Of Different Major Winners

Vermont native Keegan Bradley enters the 2012 PGA Championship this week at Kiawah Island Golf Resort in South Carolina trying to defend his 2011 PGA Championship. Including Bradley's 2011 PGA Championship win, 16 different players have won the last 16 majors. Bradley is not sure why this has been the case.

"I don't think it's quite explainable why it's happening," Bradley said. "I think now you've got guys coming from behind and really putting it to the guy that's leading, and I think you're seeing the guys feeling it a little bit. From what I've been watching, I feel like the guys in second place have looked freed up and shooting really low numbers and coming back and winning tournaments." (via Golf.com)

Bradley will try to break that streak starting Thursday. He will be paired with Tiger Woods and Martin Kaymer for the first two rounds of the 2012 PGA Championship.
