Patriots Cut Donte Stallworth, Spencer Larsen, More Coming

Stay connected for news and updates

There was no room for Donte Stallworth at the Patriots crowded wide receiver spot, as the veteran is the most notable name to be dropped by the Pats thus far as they look to trim their roster to 75 by today's 4 p.m. deadline.

Stallworth, who caught three touchdowns for the Patriots in 2007, has been trying to get his career back on track after his involvement in a DUI manslaughter case saw Roger Goodell suspend him for the entire 2009 season. He had 22 receptions with Baltimore this year and his work in preseason wasn't good enough for him to earn a roster spot.

The Pats have also cut Spencer Larsen, a fullback in his fifth year out of Arizona who turned heads as a rookie for starting a game for the Broncos at both fullback and linebacker. He was unable to beat Eric Kettani for the Pats starting gig at fullback. New England also cut BC product Tim Bulman, who has played with the Texans, and still need to trim four more players from their roster in order to make 75.
