The drama in the Boston Red Sox clubhouse has currently reached a new level, and newly traded catcher Kelly Shoppach wanted to jump into the circus Wednesday as he was preparing to exchange a Red Sox uniform for a New York Mets one.
Speaking to the New York media before officially becoming a piece of the Mets roster, Shoppach admitted.
"There is a disconnect in communication between the players through the upper management."
Shoppach, who served as a backup for the Red Sox roster before being traded Wednesday to the Mets for a player to be named later, had a few run-ins with Boston manager Bobby Valentine.
According to NESN, one of the run-ins Shoppach had with Valentine came after a private conversation between the two, which involved the catcher discussing his displeasure about playing time, went public to the media.
On Tuesday, it was reported that multiple players met with ownership to have Valentine fired.
