U.S. Medal Count: 5 Boston Area Athletes Take Home Hardware

The United States was the big winner at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, winning 104 medals over two weeks of competition. The Boston area did its part to help the cause. Five athletes with ties to the region won medals in seven different events. Women's gymnast Aly Raisman won three on her own, providing some of the biggest highlights of the games.

Ashja Jones, UConn - Golf, Women's Basketball

Tina Charles, UConn - Golf, Women's Basketball

Eleanor Logan, Portland, ME - Gold, Women's 8 Rowing
