The Boston Celtics were defeated, 92-77, by the Los Angeles Clippers on Sunday in Las Vegas Summer League play at the Cox Pavilion.
The Clippers held a 25-18 lead after the first quarter and never looked back in this one. The Clippers were up 49-39 at halftime and used a 25-19 third quarter to build up enough of a lead to close out the Celtics. While Los Angeles was 13-22 from behind the arc, Boston was just 5-21 from deep range.
Jonathan Gibson led the C's with 14 points. Three other players, including Jared Sullinger, reached double figures in scoring. Sullinger had 13 points but just one rebound in 19 minutes. Adam Morrison, who was 4-6 from behind the arc, led the Clippers with 26 points. Talor Battle chipped in 17 points and Antoine Wright had 13 points.

Boston Celtics starting point guard Rajon Rondo was in attendance Saturday, but his presence on the sidelines couldn't help the C's summer league squad earn a victory. Behind 22 points from both Tobias Harris and John Henson, the Milwaukee Bucks edged Boston 88-87 in Las Vegas.
Dionte Christmas tallied a team-best 17 points for the Celtics, who will conclude Summer League play Sunday (3:30 ET on Comcast SportsNet New England) against the Los Angeles Clippers. Forward Jared Sullinger scored 16 points and grabbed a team-high 11 rebounds, while Jamar Smith added 16 points.
Boston was downed by poor first-half shooting (26-percent), which featured going 3-for-14 from behind the 3-point arc. Smith finished just five of 16 from the field.
Combined Harris and Henson shot 18-for-35 from the field and collected 16 rebounds.

The Boston Celtics rallied late but ultimately fell, 91-82, to the Sacramento Kings during 2012 Las Vegas Summer League action Thursday night. Dionte Christmas led the C's with 19 points, but the team struggled defensively in the loss.
Christmas shot 8-for-15 from the field with three steals and three rebounds. He was the only Boston player to shoot better than 50 percent, however. The rest of the Celtics' starters went a combined 8-for-28 from the field. Rookies Kris Joseph (5 points) and Jared Sullinger (6 points) both shot 2-for-7 on the night. Sullinger at least had another nice night on the boards, hauling in 10 rebounds.
The Celtics' other rookie, Fab Melo, had to leave the game with a bruised left hand and was unable to return. He will be examined after the game. The 7-foot center had zero points on 0-for-1 shooting, and hauled in just three rebounds in 13 minutes on the floor.

There is no indication yet whether the rookie center will miss extended action due to the injury. The Celtics' first round pick scored seven points during Monday night's win over the Atlanta Hawks, which is his highest output so far this offseason. Melo has hauled in five rebounds twice. At Syracuse he made a name for himself moreso on the defensive end of the court.

The Boston Celtics continue to roll during 2012 Las Vegas Summer League action. On Tuesday, they downed the Chicago Bulls, 79-74, thanks to a big night from E'Twaun Moore. The second-year guard out of Minnesota led the C's with 25 points, including 14 during a 21-2 run in the first half.
Dionte Christmas and Jamar Smith also had impressive nights. Christmas scored 18 points and Smith added 11, nine of which came on 3-for-6 shooting from beyond the 3-point arc.
Jared Sullinger shot just 3-for-15 from the field but showed tremendous effort, particularly on the boards. The rookie led all players with 14 rebounds hauled in. JaJuan Johnson added another 12 boards.
Kris Joseph left the game in the first half and did not return after hyperextending his left knee. There is no word yet on his prognosis.

Jared Sullinger scored 14 points and hauled in seven rebounds in the Boston Celtics' 87-69 win over the Atlanta Hawks on Monday during a 2012 Las Vegas Summer League game. While the big man enjoyed a solid outing, he also knows he has a long way to go before he is ready to contribute when the games really count. Luckily, Sullinger will have plenty of veteran mentors, notably Kevin Garnett.
"I still have a lot to learn so I hope Kevin Garnett is ready for me," he said.
Asked is he was looking forward to it, Sullinger said, "Yeah, but at the same time, no. It's probably going to be all the things I don't do well versus all the things I do well ... Which I need."
Sullinger isn't as athletic as many NBA stars to begin with, and it doesn't help that he is a little out of shape even by his standards. Thankfully, he is working hard during summer workouts to get into peak form.
"I know for a fact I'm getting in better shape with all the games were playing so everything is starting to come easy," he said.

Although he didn't get the start in the Boston Celtics game against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Monday, Jared Sullinger made the best of his opportunities off of the bench, scoring 20 points in just 24 minutes in the team's 73-65 win.
Sullinger looked very comfortable and impressive in an efficient performance where he shot 6-for-12 from the field and 7-of-7 from the foul line.
Fab Melo also made his debut as a Celtic but didn't fare quite as well, scoring just two points and pulling down two rebounds. Kris Joseph made a better impression, scoring seven points and four rebounds.
Lazar Hayward had a solid game for the Thunder, scoring 18 points, but did so on 4-for-14 shooting. The Thunder struggled to shoot with consistency all afternoon.
