2012 Wimbledon Scores And Results: Roger Federer Topples Novak Djokovic To Reach Men's Final

Roger Federer marched past world No. 1 Novak Djokovic on Friday in the 2012 Wimbledon semifinals, 6-3, 3-6, 6-4, 6-3, and next he will have his latest attempt at achieving history.

With a win in Sunday's men's final against the winner of Friday's other semifinal between Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Andy Murray, Federer would extend his record of Grand Slam titles to 17 and would tie Pete Sampras with seven Wimbledon crowns. He would also return to No. 1 in the world, which would match him with Sampras for most weeks spent atop the ATP rankings with 286.

Federer remained unbeaten in Wimbledon semifinals. He has only lost once in seven previous trips to the Wimbledon Finals, an epic five-set affair with Rafael Nadal in 2008.
