2012 Summer Olympics Medal Count: United States, China Knotted At 17 Heading Into Tuesday

The United States' medal count at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London stands at 17 in a tie with China. Team USA won six medals Monday, including two golds. Matt Grevers won the men's 100-meter backstroke in a dominant swim. Not long later, 17-year-old Missy Franklin won the women's 100-meter backstroke.

Japan (11), Italy (8) and France (7) round out the Top 5. France has the third most gold medals with three. Yannick Agnel won the men's 200-meter freestyle in impressive fashion. Ryan Lochte finished fourth in the event.
