Stay connected for news and updates

The 2012 British Open begins early Thursday morning, and as expected 14-time major champion Tiger Woods, who has earned three victories on the PGA tour this season, is the odds-on favorite to win at the Royal Lytham & St. Annes Golf Club. According to the Las Vegas Hotel and Casino (via RJ Bell), Woods will enter The Open Champion as a 8-to-1 favorite to win, which slightly edges Rory McIlroy who has 10-1 odds.

Lee Westwood, one of England's most decorated players who's still looking for his first major championship, is at 12-1, while Luke Donald is a 15-1 favorite. Two-time British Open champ Padraig Harrington is a 20-1 favorite, while Phil Mickelson, who's look for his first major championship overseas, is a 30-1 favorite.

The British Open begins early Thursday morning, 4:30 a.m. ET, on ESPN.
