The 141st British Open at the Royal Lytham & St. Annes Golf Club will kick off all the action on Thursday, with tee times and pairings having been announced for the first two days.
In the 2012 version of the Open Championship, Tiger Woods will once again be one of the favorites. Come the first round he'll be joined by Sergio Garcia and Justin Rose. The group will tee off at 9:42 local, 4:42 a.m. ET.
Rory McIlroy is in a very star-studded group also, playing with 2012 Masters runner-up Louis Oosthuizen and Keegan Bradley, the pride of Woodstock, VT.
Phil Mickelson will be getting to know Luke Donald and Geoff Ogilvy a little bit better this week, as they're a trio to watch.
McIlroy's group will start at 7:21 a.m. ET with Mickelson and company following closely at 7:43 a.m. ET.
The defending Open Champion Darren Clarke will hitting the links with Ernie Els, who won the 2002 British Open and Iowa City native Zach Johnson at 4:09 a.m. ET.
Local James Driscoll will be in the very fist pairing to hit the course. He'll be playing with Barry Lane and teeing off at 6:19 a.m. local time.
