The Red Sox and Blue Jays will kick off their first Fenway series of the year as Felix Doubront takes on Henderson Alvarez. First pitch is at 7:10 p.m. EST with broadcasts on NESN and WEEI.
Though the Sox will presumably be out to set a standard lineup now that Kevin Youkilis is gone to Chicago, they've started with a fairly odd arrangement, including Jarrod Saltalamacchia batting cleanup despite a .713 OPS in June. Things have been better of late, however, with the catcher posting a line of .286/.412/.571 over the past week.
The Red Sox will be without Mike Aviles at short, as Nick Punto gets a rare start. While he's still sporting some pretty awful numbers for 2012, he's been amazing in his limited June at bats--a trend which will hopefully continue against Henderson Alvarez.
