2012 Travelers Championship: Marc Leishman Wins Travelers Championship At 14-Under-Par

Australian Marc Leishman won the 2012 Travelers Championship at at the TPC at River Highlands in Cromwell, Conn. The win was the first of Leishman's PGA Tour career.

Leishman finished tied for 70th and shot even par the last time he played in the Travelers Championship in 2009. On Sunday, Leishman shot an 8-under-par 62 to give him a lead that would hold up. He recovered from a 70 round on Saturday after shooting 68 and 66 to make the weekend. The winning share of the tournament purse for Leishman was $1,080,000. Leishman joins fellow Australian Greg Norman (1995) as the only Australians to win the event.

Fredrik Jacobsen, the 2011 Travelers Championship winner, finished tied for eighth at 11-under-par.

2012 Travelers Championship: Keegan Bradley Finishes Tournament At 6-Under-Par

Vermont native Keegan Bradley finished his 2012 Travelers Championship at 6-under-par after at 2-under-par 68 round on Sunday at the TPC at River Highlands in Cromwell, Conn.

Bradley shot a 68 every day of the tournament except for Saturday when he shot 70. Bradley is currently tied for 29th in the tournament, an improvement over his finish of 63rd in last year's Travelers Championship.

There is a two-way tie for the lead between Marc Leishman and Charley Hoffman at 14-under-par. Leishman was 8-under-par on Sunday and is in the clubhouse. Hoffman is 5-under-par on the day and is on hole 17. Last year's Travelers Championship winner, Fredrik Jacobsen, finished at 11-under-par for the tournament after a 2-under-par round on Sunday.

2012 Travelers Championship: Davis, Thatcher Lead Entering Sunday's Final Round

Through three rounds of play at the 2012 Travelers Championship in Cromwell, Connecticut, England's Brian Davis and American Roland Thatcher are tied for the lead at 12-under par.

Both Davis and Thatcher entered Saturday trailing Fredrik Jacobson, who shot an even-par third round to fall from the top spot to a six-way tie for sixth place at nine-under. Davis, meanwhile, led the tournament with a six-under Round 3 to gain control of first place. Thatcher finished five-under on Saturday to reach a total score of 12-under.

Other notable golfers making their presence known at the Travelers Championship include James Driscoll and Stuart Appleby (10-under, tied for third), Padraig Harrington (nine-under par) and Vijay Singh (three-under).

The fourth and final round of the tournament is set to begin Sunday morning at 8:30 a.m.

2012 Travelers Championship: Brian Davis Takes The Lead

At six-under through his first twelve holes on Saturday, British golfer Brian Davis has taken the lead at the Travelers Championship. Davis, who is still on the course, birdied six of his first eight holes and is at 12-under.

Entering the round, Sweden native Fredrik Jacobsen held the lead at nine-under, but so far today he is just even-par through 11 holes. He won the tournament in 2011.

The leaders in the clubhouse include fellow Swede Robert Karlsson. After a four-under round on Saturday he is at eight-under for the tournament.

With 15 golfers within five shots of the lead, the rest of the tournament is shaping up to be a thrilling finish. The purse for the tournament is $6 million.

2012 Travelers Championship: Fredrik Jacobson Leads After 2 Rounds

Fredrik Jacobson used a 4-under 66 to take a 1-stroke lead over J.B. Holmes as the rain shortened second round of the Travelers Championship finished this afternoon.

Jacobson, the defending champion at The Travelers, carded four birdies and an eagle on Hole No. 13 to head into the weekend as the leader. After an even par 70 to open the tournament, Holmes posted an 8-under 62 to jump right back into contention. Holmes birdied nine holes in his round, including consecutive birdies on five, six and seven.

U.S. Open Champion Webb Simpson is 4-strokes back a 5 under par after his second round 69 while Masters champ Bubba Watson is six-strokes back at 3-under after a 1-over 71.

2012 Travelers Championship: Round 2 To Resume Saturday Morning

The second round of the 2012 Travelers Championship at the TPC at River Highlands will resume Saturday morning at 7 a.m. ET after play was suspended on Friday due to rain. The third round will start immediately following the conclusion of the second round.

Fredrik Jacobson was one of the players able to finish his round on Friday, posting a 66 that moved him atop the leaderboard at 9-under par. Jacobson is looking to become just the second player to defend a tournament title at the course.

Scores were low for those who did finish Friday, and nobody was lower than Blake Adams. He shot a 64 to push himself within two shots of Jacobson's lead. Nathan Green and Charley Hoffman are both at 8-under par midway through their second rounds.

Vermont native Keegan Bradley will make the weekend cut at the 2012 Travelers Championship after shooting 4-under-par between his rounds on Thursday and Friday at the TPC at River Highlands in Cromwell, Conn. Bradley made the cut for the weekend in 2011 at the Travelers Championship but finished tied for 63rd at 4-under-par.

Bradley had three birdies and one bogey on the day on Friday. All three of the birdies were on the front nine while the lone bogey was on the back nine. Bradley's performance has him currently tied for 16th. Fredrik Jacobsen, the defending Travelers Championship winner, is leading the tournament in the clubhouse with a score of 9-under-par. Play is currently suspended due to inclement weather. The projected cut line is at even par.

2012 Travelers Championship: Fredrik Jacobsen Leads At 9-Under

Fredrik Jacobsen, the defending Travelers Championship winner, is in the lead after his Friday round which put him at 9-under-par for the tournament.

Jacobsen shot a 4-under-par 66 on Friday to take the lead. His round included an eagle on hole 13. Jacobsen leads Nathan Green, who has played nine holes on Friday, and Charley Hoffman (through six holes) by one shot. Play is currently suspended due to inclement weather at the TPC at River Highlands in Cromwell, Conn.

Green started on the front nine and birdied five of seven holes after coming up with bogies on the first two holes. Hoffman was playing at furious pace on the back nine before play was halted. After shooting par on his first hole of the day, he birdied the next five consecutive holes (Nos. 11-15).

2012 Travelers Championship: David Mathis Leads At 6-Under After Day One

David Mathis is the leader after Thursday's round at the 2012 Travelers Championship. Mathis shot a 6-under-par 64 round on Thursday.

Mathis' round also included a string of birdies in a row between holes 9 and 12 and a hole-in-one on the par-3 11th hole.

Vermont native Keegan Bradley had a 2-under-par 68 round on Thursday which has him tied for 25th. Bradley's round included three birdies and two bogies.

Recent major winners Webb Simpson (2012 U.S. Open) and Bubba Watson (2012 Masters) are both close to the lead after the first round. Both Simpson and Watson shot 4-under-par on the day and are tied for fifth place. Last year's winner, Fredrik Jacobsen, is one-shot back at 5-under-par after the first round.

2012 Travelers Championship: David Mathis' Hole-In-One Propels Him To Lead At 6-Under-Par

With a score of 6-under-par, David Mathis leads on Thursday at the 2012 Travelers Championship TPC at River Highlands in Cromwell, Conn.

Included in Mathis' leading first round, was a hole-in-one on the par-3, 158 yard 11th hole. The hole-in-one came during a stretch where Mathis hit birdie or better on six out of seven holes.

Vermont native Keegan Bradley finished his opening round at 2-under-par and tied for 24th. He had three birdies and one bogey on the day.

Fredrik Jacobson, the defending Travelers Championship winner, finished his opening round one shot back of the lead with a 5-under-par 65 round. The 2012 Masters champ, Bubba Watson, shot 4-under-par on Thursday and is tied for 5th.

2012 Travelers Championship: Bubba Watson, Webb Simpson Among Weekend's Headliners

Early in the Travelers Championship, several golfers are battling atop the leaderboard, some of which include Matt Kuchar, Nick O'Hern and Nathan Green, who at one point were all tied for the lead at 4-under par.

Masters champion Bubba Watson and U.S. Open champion Webb Simpson won't tee off until the afternoon, at 12:55 p.m. Simpson is likely to be the talk of the tournament, coming off the first major of his career in a tournament that seemed to kick the tails of every golfer who dared to challenge it.

The always popular Watson will also be worth paying attention to in this tournament, since he won it in 2010. TPC River Highlands, a par 70, 6,841 yard course in Cromwell, Connecticut, 10 miles south of Hartford. The most notable stretch of the course is Nos. 15-17 which play around a four-acre lake, according the Travelers Championship website.
