The CVS Caremark Charity Classic gets underway Monday at the Rhode Island Country Club.
The first round of the 2012 CVS Caremark Charity Classic will get underway on Monday morning with a fine group of 20 professionals at the Rhode Island Country Club.
The event is set up in a unique fashion. The 20 golfers will be divided up into 10 teams of two. Whichever partner has the better score on a given hole will use that number on the team scorecard.
Each player is competing in the name of a charity, and will donate their winnings to that group. In addition to the 36-hole tournament, there is also a Skins Game and a Long Drive Competition. The purse for the Skins game is $50,000, split between Monday and Tuesday.
