U.S. Open 2012 Golf Scores And Results: Round 2 Ends With Tiger Woods, Jim Furyk And David Toms Tied For First

With Round 2 of the 2012 U.S. Open in the books, a three way tie has developed for first place. Tiger Woods, Jim Furyk, and David Toms all stand at 1-under. Furyk improved his opening day par to a 69, while both Woods and Toms bumped up a stroke from 69 to 70. Woods struggled early, picking up three bogeys in a row on holes five through seven, but he was able to recover with birdies on holes 10 and 13. Toms also had some trouble on the front nine, bogeying holes one and six, but he birdied holes 11 and 12 to settle at par for the day.

Vermont native Keegan Bradley repeated his Round 1 score, shooting a 73, leaving him at 6-over thus far. That's good enough to make the cut, which looks to be at +8. That's good news for Phil Mickelson, who picked up a late birdie and ended the day 7-over, but it's bad news for 2011 U.S. Open champion Rory McIlroy, who struggled throughout the day and ended at 3-over for Round 2 and 10-over for the tournament. That leaves him headed home for the weekend. 2012 Masters winner Bubba Watson suffered the same fate, as a 71 was not good enough following his opening round 78, leaving him at 9-over and on the wrong side of the cut.
