Cody Ross Injury Update: Red Sox Outfielder To Start Rehab Assignment In Buffalo This Weekend

Boston Red Sox injured outfielder Cody Ross will be starting a rehab assignment this weekend in Buffalo, according to a report (via Rob Bradford's Twitter).

Ross has been out since he played his last game on May 18. He's been on the disabled list since May 22 with a bone fracture in his left foot. During the 2012 season, Ross has hit .271 with eight home runs, 28 RBI and 16 walks. Just before the injury, Ross had hit homers in back-to-back games and was 4-6 with five RBI in those games.

Ross took batting practice for the first time since the injury on June 9 and began running on Sunday. Ross was originally thought to be out until early July with the injury but it is now conceivable he will return in late June.
