French Open Final: Rafael Nadal Leads Novak Djokovic, Match In Rain Delay

Stay connected for news and updates

Rafael Nadal isn't quite ready to let go of his title as three-time defending French Open champion. The weather won't allow it quite yet, anyway, as the match is currently in its second rain delay.

Nadal jumped out to a quick two sets to none lead, winning the first two sets 6-4, 6-3. Rain had suspended the match in the second set, but it did not halt Nadal's momentum, as he quickly disposed of Djokovic in the second set.

The Djoker, though, wasn't going to go without a fight. Djokovic came back and dominated the third set, winning it with ease, 6-2. Djokovic also took the first two games of the fourth set, before Nadal snapped an eight game winning streak by Djokovic, winning the third game.

The match was once again halted after Nadal won the third game of the fourth set, much to the chagrin of Nadal.

The match is set to resume at some point on Sunday. Nadal currently leads 6-4, 6-3, 2-6, 1-2. We'll see if this ends up going five sets, or if Nadal will win yet another French Open title in four sets.
