In Sports Illustrated's latest 2012 NBA Mock Draft, Sam Amick projects the Boston Celtics to take Syracuse's Fab Melo and Iowa State's Royce White, respectively, with the 21st and 22nd picks.
Melo was named the Big East Player of the Year after averaging 7.8 points, 5.8 rebounds and 2.9 blocks. The seven-footer anchored Syracuse's 2-3 zone defense, but was ruled ineligible for the NCAA tournament as Syracuse ultimately lost in the Elite Eight.
White was named the Big 12 Newcomer of the Year after averaging 13.4 points and 9.8 rebounds for the Cyclones. Though scouts love the bruising 6-foot-8 power forward's skill set, he has anxiety issues and past legal concerns that are white flags for prospective employers. He initially went to the University of Minnesota, but withdrew from the school amid suspicion that he was involved in a laptop theft.
