French Open 2012 Results, Round 1 Results: Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer Win In Straight Sets

In another good day for the seeds on the Men's side of the draw on Monday at the 2012 French Open, No. 1 seed Novak Djokovic and No. 3 seed Roger Federer both won.

Djokovic took out Potito Starace, 7-6, 6-3, 6-1. Federer defeated Tobias Kamke 6-2, 7-5, 6-3. Overall among the seeds, only No. 15 seed Feliciano Lopez left the French Open on Monday. Lopez retired with an injury.

On the Women's side, No. 1 seed Victoria Azarenka survived her own errors and advanced against Alberta Brianti, 6-7 (6), 6-4, 6-2.

There were a number of upsets on the Women's side. No. 12 Sabine Lisicki, No. 17 Roberta Vinci, No. 30 Mona Barthel and No. 32 Monica Niculescu all fell on Monday. After Monday, American women are now 10-0 at Roland Garros.
