The Massachusetts Minutemen are looking to end their end-of-season skid against the Rhode Island Rams on Saturday, while simultaneously avenging their overtime loss to the Rams earlier this season. At 19-10 and 8-7 in the Atlantic 10, the Minutemen have lost four of their last five games, but lead Rhode Island by a point at halftime.
Rams' forward, Orion Outerbridge, leads the game in scoring with 14 points on 10 shots. T.J. Buchanan is the only other Ram in double figures. The Minutemen only have one player in double figures – Sean Carter with 10 – but have six players who have scored at least five points, including three bench players.
Both teams are converting shots, with Rhode Island shooting 46 percent and the Minutemen not far behind at 44. UMass is being bullied on the boards, but have been able to negate the disadvantage by hitting nine threes thus far.
