It hasn't even been a week yet since the trade deadline, but Brian Rolston and Mike Mottau are going to have a chance to revisit some old friends from the New York Islanders today, only this time from a different perspective.
Peter Chiarelli made some last minute trades last Monday that brought these former Isles to Boston for little to nothing. Rolston was on waivers and Mottau was given up for future considerations.
As the Bruins take on New York in Boston this afternoon, the two former teammates from there will have the chance to prove their worth even more to the Black and Gold clubhouse.
Rolston has played in both games since he arrived in Boston, but only has one shot on goal and no points. But with Nathan Horton out, it has allowed Claude Julien to switch some other lines around, and finding an effective line--like the Milan Lucic, David Krejci and Tyler Seguin line.
Mottau has only played in one game with the Bruins, and also has a shot and just under 11 minutes of ice time.
The puck drops at 1 p.m. and the game will be broadcast live on NESN and aired on 98.5 The Sports Hub.
