Harvard has earned a 12-seed in the 2012 NCAA Tournament and will face 5th seeded Vanderbilt in their first game.

The 2012 NCAA Tournament bracket and field has been announced, and the Harvard Crimson will receive a 12-seed in the East region. The Crimson's first opponent will be the 5th seeded Vanderbilt Commodores and they will play on Thursday at Albuquerque, NM. If the Crimson wins its first matchup, it will face the winner of No. 4 seed Wisconsin and No. 13 seed Montana on March 17.

The Harvard Crimson earned the 12-seed by winning the Ivy League with a 12-2 conference record. The Crimson avoided a one-game playoff with Penn when the Quakers lost to Princeton in their regular-season finale, giving Harvard the outright Ivy League crown. This will mark the first NCAA tournament for Harvard since 1946.
