Bruins Vs. Rangers: Shawn Thornton Said New York Proved They Were Better

The New York Rangers shutout the Boston Bruins 3-0 on Tuesday night. After the game, Boston forward Shawn Thornton talked to CSNNE after the game about the game and the looming trade deadline.

Despite being shutout by the Rangers, Thornton saw some improvement in the Bruins' play.

"The effort was better, I think they were the better team still," Thornton told Michael Felger on 'Sticks and Stones'. "But I liked the way -- for everything except the last seven minutes of the first period, I actually thought we were a little bit better than we were previous to the Nashville game. So they're a good team over there, I think their goaltender played a hell of a game. I mean, obviously, we weren't good enough because we didn't win, but I think for the most part everyone is buying in which is a positive." (via CSNNE)

Boston won't have much time to ponder improvements with a game tonight against Montreal at 7:30 p.m.
