The Bruins have felt the heartbreak of a real season the past couple of weeks. With one good game here followed by a couple of not-so-good games there.
But they will have to try and put that all behind them tonight when they will take on the Eastern Conference leading New York Rangers tonight at TD Garden.
The last time these two teams met was back in January, where the Bruins took a 3-2 loss in overtime after Andrew Ference took a 5-minute major penalty, a game misconduct and an eventual three-game suspension after hitting Ryan McDonagh into the end boards early into the extra frame.
Marian Gaborik scored the game winner and kept the Rangers in first place.
Now, just under a month later, the Bruins will have a chance at them again, but they currently sit seven points behind them now, as opposed to the one point earlier this year.
Bruins GM Peter Chiarelli made some moves yesterday that turned some heads. He recalled defenseman Andrew Bodnarchuk and forward Josh Hennessy from Providence, despite having Steven Kampfer at his disposal currently. The trade deadline is looming, and no doubt he is positioning himself to make moves, and they will be good trade fodder.
The puck drops at 7 p.m. and will be broadcast live on NESN and aired on 98.5 The Sports Hub.
