LOWELL -- The UMass-Lowell River Hawks scored just 42 seconds into the second period to tie the score 1-1 with the Bentley Falcons at the Tsongas Center. UML again dominated the stanza territorially, holding a 15-6 shots advantage (26-18 overall) and a 2-1 ratio in total chances.

Freshman Ryan McGrath was the goal scorer on the power play as he slipped a wrist shot past Falcon junior Branden Komm. The goal was assisted by junior Chad Ruhwedel as he led the rush up the ice from the blue line en route to the O'Fallon, Mo. native's third goal of the season.

From that point on, the teams seemed to feel each other out without getting anything else on the scoreboard before the buzzer sounded. When tied after two periods, each side has been able to pull out one win on the season thus far.
