The 61st annual Beanpot Tournament is still over a month away, but that did not stop the Northeastern Huskies and Harvard Crimson from squaring off for the 99th time and for the first time in over a decade at Bright Hockey Center.

Despite holding a 11-8 shots on goal disadvantage, Harvard led 1-0 after the first period of play.

The Crimson immediately cashed in on the first of Northeastern junior Cody Ferriero's two penalties as freshman Brian Hart took the feed from his defensive teammates Brendan Rempel and Desmond Bergin to beat senior Chris Rawlings low at the 4:25 mark.

RECORD-SETTING NIGHT IN MINNEAPOLIS

On Saturday afternoon at the Mariucci Classic in Minneapolis, Boston College's Jerry York became the all-time winningest coach in Division I college hockey history as his Eagles earned a 5-2 victory over Alabama-Huntsville.

Sophomores Danny Linell and Cam Spiro and rookie Brendan Silk each had a goal and an assist to lead the offense, while senior Parker Milner made 26 saves for his 12th win in goal. The Maroon and Gold scored the first four goals of the game, including one from Spiro and Silk within the first three minutes of the first and second periods.

The 41-year veteran tied the record with a 5-2 win over archrival Boston University on Dec. 1, but the Eagles were unable to turn the trick the following Friday as they tied at Providence.
