With Boston's local teams off a night after a ridiculous near-comeback by the New England Patriots, there's Monday Night Football and some college hoops action on TV Monday night.
NFL: New York Jets vs. Tennessee Titans, 8:30 p.m., ESPN: It's one of the uglier Monday night games in recent memory, but your fantasy football playoff game probably depends on it, so you'll be watching. The Jets actually have an outside chance of making the playoffs if they win out, but they'll need help from the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cincinnati Bengals to qualify. That's assuming they can win their three remaining games, beginning with a game against the 4-9 Titans Monday night, which, knowing the 6-7 Jets, isn't exactly a lock.
Elsewhere:
NBA: Houston Rockets vs. New York Knicks, 7:30 p.m., NBATV
College basketball: Detroit vs. Syracuse, 7 p.m., ESPN2
IPFW vs. Notre Dame, 7 p.m., ESPNU
Alabama State vs. Georgia Tech, 7 p.m., NESN
Cornell vs. Vanderbilt, 9 p.m., ESPNU
Premier League: Arsenal vs. Reading, 2:55 p.m., FSN
