Kevin Garnett had 10 rebounds and seven points as the Boston Celtics trail the Washington Wizards at halftime, 42-37, Wednesday night at the TD Garden in Boston, MA.
Garnett continues to be the stabilizing force for the Boston interior unit. With the Celtics up 11-5 at the 6:41 mark in the first quarter, Brandon Bass subbed in for Garnett. When Garnett returned at the 1:34 mark, the Celtics only led 17-16.
The veteran forward would exit the game at the 7:05 mark in the second quarter with Boston leading 26-22 yet again, this time with rookie Jared Sullinger taking his place. Less than a minute out of the game, Washington tied the ballgame at 28. In Garnett's absence, communication and ball movement was again a problem, with the Wizards taking a 38-34 lead.
Rajon Rondo finished the half with eight points and five assists. He needs at least 10 assists to pass John Stockton for third all-time with 28 consecutive games of double-digit assists.
Kevin Seraphin continued his domination of the Celtics from Saturday, this time connecting on 5-of-9 shots for 10 points and five rebounds in the first half.
