The Eagles responded midway through the second quarter with a touchdown drive of their own. It was capped off with a 16-yard TD pass from Rettig to Alex Amidon to cut the deficit to 14-7.

After recovering a fumble from Gattig in the closing minutes of the half, Wake Forest took a 21-7 lead with yet another touchdown pass from Price to Campanaro.
