B.C. fans want Frank Spaziani fired now

The Boston College Eagles lost to the Wake Forest Demon Deacons Saturday, 28-14, in an Atlantic Coast Conference game at Groves Stadium. The loss was the Eagles' sixth in seven games, and has put head coach Frank Spaziani in the crosshairs of a lot of criticism.

According to the SB Nation blog BC Interruption, the Boston College athletic department, led by new athletic director Brad Bates, should fire Spaziani before next Saturday's contest against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

But make no mistake, the energy and enthusiasm surrounding the program and this weekend's game is at a new recent low.

So why wait until Monday, November 26? Bates has now had a few weeks to assess the situation and crunch the numbers. The football program has gotten so bad that every day this drags on, the more fans and long-time season ticket holders are going to turn their backs on this program.

If Bates were to fire Spaziani now BC Interruption believes the message sent would be a clear one.

Let the rebuilding process begin now, so that we can take some joy in watching our football program take it on the chin against the 9-0 Irish with the knowledge and hope that better days are ahead.

Next Saturday, Boston College will visit South Bend, Ind. to take on unbeaten Notre Dame. The game time has yet to be determined but it will be broadcasted on ABC.

The rest of the Eagles schedule features the Virginia Tech Hokies, Nov. 17, and N.C. State Wolfpack, Nov. 24.

Boston College trails Wake Forest 21-7 in 3Q

The Boston College Eagles have trailed Wake Forest all game, and they are currently down 21-7 early in the third quarter. Two costly turnovers from quarterback Chase Rettig put the Eagles at an early disadvantage and Wake Forest did not hesitate to take advantage.

The first score of the game came on a 5-yard touchdown strike from Tanner Price to Michael Campanaro that gave the Deacons a 7-0 lead. Price then hit Campanaro again on their next drive to add another seven points to the lead.

The Eagles responded midway through the second quarter with a touchdown drive of their own. It was capped off with a 16-yard TD pass from Rettig to Alex Amidon to cut the deficit to 14-7.

After recovering a fumble from Gattig in the closing minutes of the half, Wake Forest took a 21-7 lead with yet another touchdown pass from Price to Campanaro.

The Deacons have the ball yet again at the start of the third quarter and are moving it down the field. You can catch all of the action on ESPN3.

BC Eagles down 14-0 to Wake Forest early

The Boston College Eagles came out sloppy on the road against Wake Forest and paid the price, falling behind 14-0 in the first quarter.

Quarterback Chase Rettig has already thrown two interceptions and completed just six passes for 68 yards so far. The Eagles have run the ball two times for a loss of five yards.

Tanner Price has been great for the Demon Deacons, going 11-for-20 for 96 yards and two touchdown scores. He connected with Michael Companaro on the team's second drive of the game for a five-yard touchdown strike. Price then hit Campanaro again, this time from 27 yards out to make the score 14-0.

Boston College put together a decent drive to end the first quarter, but it was halted with a turnover on downs around the 35-yard line. The Deacons now have the ball and will look to put the game out of reach early. You can catch the action live on ESPN3.
