ACC Football Standings 2012: Florida State and Clemson rule the conference

Matt Cashore-US PRESSWIRE

Florida State and Clemson had terrific years, while Boston College sank into the basement.

The 2012 regular season is over for the members of the ACC. It was a terrific year for some teams, a miserable campaign for others, and yet somehow five teams ended up bowl eligible.

Perhaps the toughest year was had by the Boston College Eagles, who just couldn't get anything going from beginning to end. The Eagles had a putrid offense and couldn't do much defensively either, leading to a two-win season that saw their head coach get fired on Monday.

On the other side of the coin, the best season is a toss-up between the Florida State Seminoles and Clemson Tigers, who both finished with 10 wins, seven in-conference.

Without further chatter, the ACC standings:

Florida State Seminoles 7-1 10-2
