Patriots vs. Jets inactives: Aaron Hernandez in, Chandler Jones out

Stay connected for news and updates

The New England Patriots lost their primary receiver and top tight end, Rob Gronkowski, but they will have the next best option -- Aaron Hernandez -- as he is officially active for New England's rivalry game against the New York Jets on Thanksgiving.

Hernandez has played in just four games for the Patriots this season, and he last saw action in New England's 29-26 win over the Jets in Week 7. Hernandez has 17 catches for 143 yards and two touchdowns in 2012.

Dan Connolly will also return to the lineup for New England, as will Patrick Chung, but the team will be without starting right tackle Sebastian Vollmer, who has back and knee injuries.

Chandler Jones, the Pats' rookie defensive end, will not play against the Jets.
