Alabama-Huntsville vs. Northeastern score update: Huskies maintain 2-0 lead

The second period at Matthews Arena was more of the same for the Northeastern Huskies as they held a 15-6 shots on goal edge in the stanza and kept their 2-0 lead going into the final intermission. For the game overall, the Huskies carry a 38-12 advantage.

Northeastern returned to its somewhat undisciplined form in the period, taking two more penalties. On the flip side, the Huskies have been unable to cash in on any of its five power-play chances.

UAH senior John Griggs and Northeastern counterpart Chris Rawlings each pitched perfect stanzas in the goal, keeping the score locked at two. Griggs, an Illinois native, has continued to stand on his head for the visitors, posting 15 more saves to total 37 for the contest.

On a bizarre note, none of Northeastern's 16 goals have come in the middle stanza so the Huskies will have to wait another contest (Sunday night vs. UAH) to change that oddity.
