Boston Red Sox at New York Yankees, 7pm (TV: NESN)

Will the day off rejuvenate the Red Sox and get them back on track towards the AL Wild Card? The Sox send Jon Lester, who is 2-0 at Yankees Stadium this season, to the mound against the Yankees. The Yankees will serve up the recently shaky right-hander Freddy Garcia, who has allowed seven home runs in his last four starts. Follow our coverage here.

Toronto Blue Jays vs. Tampa Bay Rays, 7pm (TV: MLB Network)

Keep an eye on this AL East matchup. Red Sox fans will become Jose Bautista fans this weekend.

National Hockey League

Preseason: Boston Bruins vs. New York Islanders, 7pm (Radio: 98.5 Sports Hub, Live Streaming: BostonBruins.com)

The Boston Bruins host their first home game since the Stanley Cup Playoffs, hosting the New York Islanders in this preseason match-up. Tim Thomas will start in goal for the Bruins, and is sure to solicit a ton of cheers when he takes the ice Friday night.
