Per Shalise Manza Young’s Twitter account, the New England Patriots have released safety Ross Ventrone, according to a team announcement on Wednesday.
↵Ventrone, who graduated from Villanova University, was signed by the Patriots as an undrafted free agent in 2010, but did not play in a game for the team last season.
↵After playing in the Patriots’ preseason opener against the New Orleans Saints, Ventrone was waived on August 15, 2010. He was later re-signed and played in the Pats’ last two preseason games. On October 19, 2010, he was signed to the practice squad.
↵Last January, Ventrone was signed to a contract for the 2011 season, but Bill Belichick and company decided to pull the plug once again.
