J.D. Drew may be placed on the 15-day disabled list as early as Monday with an impingement in his left shoulder, according to a Tweet from Sean McAdam of Comcast SportsNet New England.
J.D. Drew will be placed on DL Monday with impingement in left shoulder. Possibility first suggested by @nickcafardo
Drew, who has not been in the lineup since last Tuesday, is having a dismal season, batting .219 with four home runs and 21 RBI. He recently lost his starting job, at least temporarily, with Terry Francona opting to go with Josh Reddick in right field. It is not know if Reddick was given the job with the expectation of Drew going on the DL.
