JD Drew Leaves Game In Second Inning After Suffering Injury In Batting Practice

Stay connected for news and updates

J.D. Drew left in the second inning of the Red Sox' series finale with the Pittsburgh Pirates after fouling a ball off his left eye during batting practice.

Drew tried to play, but the wound began to swell, causing Drew's left eye to close and he was removed from the game. It doesn't look as if the injury will force him to miss any significant time, however.
