Minnesota-Duluth 5, Yale 3
Minnesota-Duluth breaks several seasons of frustration and finally earned a Frozen Four berth, beating number one seed Yale, 5-3 on Saturday. Minnesota-Duluth jumped out to a three goal lead before Yale could get on the board. Kenny Reiter had 30 saves for Minnesota-Duluth. Yale’s Broc Little closed out his collegiate career with a goal and two assists.
Minnesota-Duluth will head to the Frozen Four semifinals on April 7th in St. Paul, MN.
Michigan 2, Colorado College 1
Michigan kept Colorado College’s quick and powerful offense off the board until the third period, but by that point, Colorado College had just run out of time. Scooter Vaughn and Lee Moffie got Michigan on the board in the first period, and then played keep away from Colorado College for the rest of the night. Colorado College’s Jeff Howe did make 41 saves, keeping his Tigers in the game.
Michigan advances to the Frozen Four for the 24th time.
