Sports Illustrated's Tony Pauline reports that UMass' Emil Igwenagu has received an invite to the 2012 NFL Draft combine that will be held in February.
University of Massachusetts football player Emil Igwenagu played three positions during his first three years in college. After finally settling in as a tight end, the redshirt senior showed enough promise to earn the attention of NFL scouts.
Sports Illustrated's Tony Pauline reports that the 6-2, 245-pound Igwenagu has received an invite to the 2012 NFL Draft combine that will be held in February.
During 11 games as a senior, Igwenagu caught 38 passes for 375 yards and three touchdowns. His two best games came in consecutive weeks, a 10-catch, 85-yard, one-touchdown performance at Old Dominion in Week 4 and a four-catch, 99-yard, one-touchdown showing the following week against Central Connecticut.
It's unsure what position Igwenagu would play in the NFL, but NFLDraftScout.com projects that he would play fullback, which was his position as a sophomore at UMass. The website rated Igwenagu the 18th-best fullback eligible for the NFL Draft.
