UConn vs. Fairfield First Half Score: Huskies Lead 46-26

The UConn Huskies lead the Fairfield Stags 46-26 after one half of play at the XL Center.

Through the first ten minutes of play, Fairfield hung around with the Huskies. UConn's lead was only 23-15 despite shooting 50% from the floor. Things really opened up for UConn in the second ten minutes when they outscored the Stags 23-11. The Huskies hit 5-7 three-point attempts in the first half. UConn also had a 22-14 rebound advantage.

Shabazz Napier had a great first half for the Huskies with 16 points. UConn Freshman big man Andre Drummond had 10 points, 8 rebounds, 4 steals and a block in the first half. Fairfield was led by the play of Derek Needham and Rakim Sanders. Needham had nine points and Sanders had eight points.
