Stay connected for news and updates

Today the Huskies continued their recent dominance of the Orange, winning for the sixth time in the last eight meetings between the teams. Former 'Cuse coach and current Huskies coach, Paul Pasqualoni's squad were able to pull out the seven point victory despite committing five turnovers – three by quarterback Johnny McEntee.

The aforementioned McEntee was unable to take advantage of a suspect Syracuse secondary, only completing eight of 14 passes for 113 yards. He did throw for one touchdown, but threw two picks and lost a fumble.

The Huskies were carried by their rushing attack, led by freshman running back Lyle McCombs, who rushed for 152 yards on 23 carries, including a touchdown and a long of 63 yards.

The win moves UConn to 4-5 overall and 2-2 in the Big East, and the loss drops Syracuse to 5-4 and 1-3 in the Big East.

UConn with host the Louisville Cardinals in two weeks, on November 19.
