Connecticut Vs. Syracuse Score Update: Huskies Lead 7-0 After One

Stay connected for news and updates

Led by former Syracuse coach Paul Pasqualoni the Huskies are currently hosting the Orange in a Big East showdown. The Huskies came into today's game with a 3-5 record (1-2 Big East) against the 5-3 Orange (1-2 Big East).

Despite having a worse record the Huskies entered the day as two-point home favorites and have taken an early 7-0 lead after one quarter of play. Quarterback Johnny McEntee has thrown three passes, one for the game's only touchdown – a 10 yard strike to John Delahunt – and one interception. Running back Lyle McCombs – who's averaging 100-plus yards per game – already has 84 yards on eight carries, including a long of 63.

Each team already has two turnovers in what's been a sloppy first quarter. Connecticut is out-gaining the Orange 113 to 49 thus far.

The rest of the game can be found on ESPN U.
