Deutsche Bank Championship, Final Round: Charley Hoffman Shoots 62, Surges To Second Career Win

Charley Hoffman scorched TPC Boston in the final round on Monday, shooting a nine-under 62 to win the Deutsche Bank Championship, the second stop of the FedExCup Playoffs. Hoffman finished with an overall score of -22, besting a trio of golfers who finished five strokes back.

Hoffman entered Monday four shots behind Day, at -13, but an impressive day of 11 birdies, including six on the back nine (where he posted a 29), catapulted him to the top of the leaderboard.

Geoff Ogilvy, Luke Donald and Jason Day, the leader entering Monday's fourth round, finished in a three-way tie for second at -17.

Hoffman's day is already being called "arguably the best round in Playoffs history" by the PGA's official site. Indeed, it was something special: his score tied the tournament record of 22-under (originally set by Vijay Singh in 2008).

With the victory, Hoffman moved to second in the FedExCup points standings.

Matt Kuchar remains No. 1 in the Playoffs, followed by Hoffman and then Steve Stricker in third.
