Buchholz Blanks Blue Jays In Baseball Game, Red Sox Win 5-0

Clay Buchholz shutout the Blue Jays for six innings to earn his 15th win and Felix Doubront picked up the save as the Red Sox blanked the Blue Jays in the rubber game Sunday, 5-0. Unfortunately, the Rays and Yankees also won.

Buchholz Looking For Win No. 15 In Rubber Game With Blue Jays

Boston, MA (Sports Network) - Clay Buchholz tossed six scoreless frames and Bill Hall hit a two-run homer as Boston shut down Toronto, 5-0, in the rubber match of a three-game series at Fenway Park.

David Ortiz added two hits and an RBI while Victor Martinez and Adrian Beltre drove in a run each for the Red Sox, who won the final two games in the set and four of six overall.

Buchholz (15-5) gave up five hits while fanning seven and walking three for the win, his fourth straight victory.

Jose Molina, Jose Bautista and Vernon Wells collected two hits apiece for the Blue Jays, who fell for the fifth time in eight outings.

Shaun Marcum (11-7) allowed four hits and three runs with six strikeouts in seven innings in the setback.
