Boston College Vs. California: Eagles Battle Golden Bears In Old Spice Classic

Boston College couldn't maintain its lead against Wisconsin, losing 65-55 in the semifinal round of the Old Spice Classic. The Eagles will look to get back on track when they face California in the Old Spice Classic third-place game at HP Field House in Kissimmee, Florida (1:30 p.m. ET, ESPNU).

Reggie Jackson has been the star for Boston College in the Old Spice Classic. Jackson scored a game-high 21 points in the Eagles' 67-65 win over Texas A&M on Thanksgiving Day in the first round of the tournament. In the loss against Wisconsin, he finished with a game-high 18 points.

The Eagles (3-2) have been off to a solid start under new head coach Steve Donahue. Boston College defeated St. Francis (NY) in its season-opener, lost to Ivy-League opponent Yale and proceeded to defeat in-state rival Holy Cross before heading the the Orlando area for the 2010 Old Spice Classic.

California (3-1) won its first three games against CSU Northbridge (80-63), New Mexico (89-64) and No. 21 Temple (57-50) before losing to Notre Dame in the Old Spice Classic semifinal round on Friday.

Harper Kamp leads the Golden Bears in scoring, averaging 14.8 points. Kamp is shooting 50% on the season and is also averaging 6.8 rebounds per game in four games.
