It's a season of what could have been for Virginia Tech.
On Saturday, the Hokies earned their eighth consecutive win, and with games at Miami and at home against Virginia left on their schedule, Virginia Tech will likely be headed to the ACC Championship game riding a 10-game win streak. Unfortunately for them though, that "2" in the loss column weighs heavy, particularly the Week 2 home loss to FCS opponent James Madison.
As such, Virginia Tech (8-2) is ranked No. 15 in the Week 12 USA Today Top 25 coaches poll, up two spots from a week ago. The Atlantic Coast Conference is also represented by Miami, which is back among the ranked teams after its win over Georgia Tech, coming in at No. 21.
